RETTA & RON

Ron grew up in Mississippi where the love of good food and southern style cooking was instilled in him from the start. He made his way west to Moran, WY in 2004 where he honed his skills managing and cooking at the Hatchet Resort for the next 12 years. Retta grew up in rural Missouri where she worked in the restaurant industry starting at age 16 until she moved west at the age of 27. Retta moved to Jackson, WY in 1997 and worked her way through a variety of jobs until finding herself at the Hatchet Resort in 2011 where she met Ron. Over the next 5 years they ran the restaurant together and married in 2016. After the season ended in 2016, Ron and Retta decided to move permanently to their home in Victor, Idaho and start there own catering business, R&R Catering. The business was an instant success. Offering warm hospitality, delicious southern BBQ and a consistent attention to detail for any size event that headed their way. Always up for a new adventure, Ron and Retta opened Captain Ron’s Smokehouse in Driggs in August of 2019 which in addition to catering offers delicious sandwiches and meals to go and a delightful outdoor dining patio in the summer months.
